Anri Alimont

At a Glance

6'1" tall, 33 summers old and with the build and scars of a veteran adventurer, this woman bears the marks of her history with silent pride and confidence.Ever a serious sort, her voice rarely reaches the highs of excitement or the lows of anger; though soft-spoken in nature, her steady tone leaves no room for negotiation or compromise.Though scarce and often fleeting at best, the few smiles she does have to spare carry unexpected warmth, betraying a gentle heart hidden beneath an icy shell.

A tradition of duty; dedication until death.

Hooks

Brains and Brawn

Though Anri is highly skilled in swordsmanship and formidable with a whole host of other weapons, her ability to manipulate aether is lacking at best and laughable at worst. To make up for this, it's not unusual for her to (reluctantly) seek out mages and other types of spellslingers to work alongside for a job or two.

Company Commander

Anri is the commander of the Silver Roses: a small, mostly-unknown Free Company of hand-picked, likeminded adventurers of varying degrees of experience. Unorthodox in their nature, they lack a proper HQ and spend as much time apart as they do together, convening only when there's work to be done.

Everyday Life

Anri would have you believe otherwise, but she, too, needs rest and recovery like any other person: her equipment needs to be maintained, her consumables need to be restocked, and her own body needs food, water and sleep as well. During these rare downtimes, one might actually manage to talk to her at length.

Frequent Customer

Whether it's through an adventuring contract, a vigilante intervention or any other unlucky encounter, Anri is no stranger to getting herself hurt - and therefore often finds herself in the company of apothecaries, chirurgeons and even magically-inclined healers, commonly paying for her treatment by running errands.

Obsessive Voidhunter

The Alimonts have been hunting nightkin and voidsent for generations, and Anri proudly continues this family tradition. Whenever a situation involves either, she will find it impossible to stay away; like a moth drawn to a flame, the last hunter of her line is drawn to her quarry, no matter the risk or odds.

Vagabond Adventurer

As an adventurer, Anri spends most of her life traveling from place to place taking on all kinds of different contracts - most commonly work involving voidsent, but occasionally other postings if a fellow adventurer finds themselves in need of backup and manages to make a good case for themselves.

Past

“Her?”The guild receptionist looks over at the woman, then back to you for confirmation.“There isn't really much to know about her. She showed up here about four summers ago and asked to join the Adventurer's Guild. It wasn't hard to see that she's been adventuring on her own for years before that, though. You don't collect that many scars and have that kind of look about you as a fresh-faced novice."As if afraid of being overheard, the receptionist lowers their voice.“If you're looking to team up with her, you should know that she has a very economic way with words and doesn't care for much outside of her work. I don't think I've ever seen her wear something that wasn't some variety of armor, and I know for a fact I've never seen her completely unarmed. She's not one for smalltalk, either- I've tried that plenty, and she really is an expert at shutting that kind of thing down with her monoverbal responses."The receptionist smiles and shakes their head.“If you can look past her weird quirks, though, you'll find she's a very dependable, professional person. She's always on time, I've never seen her back down from a quest, and she's always among the first to respond to calls for help from fellow adventurers. Oh, she even commands her own Free Company - they're about a dozen-or-so strong, supposedly."Suddenly, the receptionist coughs awkwardly and shifts their gaze down to the stack of papers before them."Shhh. I think she realized we're talking about her. You can kind of tell by the way she's tilting her head our way, so I'm going to stop here. If you do want to know more about her, you could always just talk to her yourself, you know."

Out of Character

Hi! I'm Caffeine, but you can also call me Anri since she's the only character I really (role)play on XIV. I'm a trans woman from Europe and I'm slowly approaching my 30s, and I've been writing and roleplaying for ~15 years at this point. Writing is a serious passion of mine, and I'm equally as comfortable running things as a GM as I am participating in other people's storylines as player.

Yes

1) Light lorebending. I'm okay with mild lorebending, but let's please keep the setting fantasy-aligned.2) Open-world roleplay. Given the choice, I'll always pick this over Quicksands chitchat no. 381.3) Plotting, planning and scheduling. We are the GMs of the plots we write together, so let's put in the effort!4) Character-driven plots. Scenes focused more on our characters than on the situations they're in.

Maybe / Talk first!

1) Evil characters. Anri is ultimately good-aligned and won't just "hang out" with irredeemably evil people.2) Blank-slate search infos. You can always approach me, but I can't approach you off "WU/T!" alone!3) Lightless. I'll sync if we've RPed before or we're starting a scheduled RP, but never with full-on strangers.4) ERP. It's a possibility with the right IC chemistry, but please don't make this your sole interest or focus.

No

1) Minors, IC or OOC. All players and characters involved in a scene, no matter the nature, should be 18+.2) Bigotry & queer fetishization. I'm not okay with raceplay and I will not interact with "F+" characters at all.3) High-powered characters: WoLs, Scions, immediately MSQ-adjacent characters, demi-gods, et cetera.4) Endless bar RP: sooner or later, I'll lose interest if all we ever RP is smalltalk in the Quicksands!

With all that out of the way, communication is key: if you're unsure about something, if you'd like to present a scene idea that wouldn't work in the current location or context, or you just don't know how to approach my character, you're always welcome to approach me OOC with a /tell instead, even when I'm RP-tagged. I do actually prefer OOC approaches over IC approaches! If you'd like to roleplay with me, don't be shy! Do be direct about your intentions, though: if all you do is compliment my glamour, my carrd or something else, then I'll assume you're just being nice - which is perfectly fine and welcome (and nice of you indeed!), but it doesn't really tell me you're looking to roleplay with me.
