Anri Alimont

At a Glance

6'1" tall, 33 summers old and with the build and scars of a veteran fighter, this woman bears the marks of her history with silent pride and confidence.Ever a serious sort, her voice rarely reaches the highs of excitement or the lows of anger; though calm in nature, her steady tone leaves no room for negotiation or compromise. While scarce and often fleeting at best, the few small smiles she does have to spare carry unexpected warmth, betraying a gentle heart hidden beneath a layer of ice.

A tradition of duty; dedication until death.

Hooks

Adventurer's Guild

Members of the Adventurer's Guild will have no trouble recognizing Anri as that one weirdly fixated adventurer who only seems to accept quests related to voidsent, often waiting by the questboard just for such an opportunity to be posted... and continuing to wait patiently if not.

Everyday Life

Anri would have you believe otherwise, but she, too, needs rest and recovery like any other person: her equipment needs to be maintained, her consumables need to be restocked, and her own body needs food, water and sleep as well. During these rare downtimes, one might actually manage to talk to her at length.

Healers Needed

With no magic spells to speak of and her proclivity towards solo adventuring, Anri often finds herself injured and in (dire) need of a healer to tend to her wounds. Many- if not most- of her longest-standing friendships have started with Anri at death's door and asking for help.

Soothing Presence

Although Anri is a surprisingly educated, worldly soul, the secrets of the arcane remain an obstacle to her: struggling with even the most basic of spells, she prefers to find creative workarounds for situations that might otherwise call for magic... or she'll contact a mage to give her a hand.

Stoic Professional

Serious, stoic and often economic with her words, Anri rarely has personal impressions or opinions to share... but she is known to humor attempts at conversation regardless, and often proves herself to be surprisingly accomodating. To some, getting a rise out of people like her is a personal challenge.

Tin Can

No matter the occasion- casual, formal or battle-, catching Anri out of her armor is already a rare sight, but seeing her without a helmet at all has become almost impossible: the only time she'll willingly remove it is to either sleep, or to have it repaired... in which case she might simply wear a backup piece.

Past

"Her?"

The guild receptionist looks over at the armored figure, then back to you for confirmation.

"...I guess I can tell you a few things about her, sure. Anri showed up here about four summers ago and asked to join the Adventurer's Guild. She used to be a sellsword before then- she didn't say for how long exactly, but she did say 'for most of her life', and she has the scars and worldliness to show for it. That's about all I know; she doesn't really talk about her past."

As if afraid of being overheard, the receptionist lowers their voice.

"...I can make a few educated guesses, though. Whatever she's seen in those times, it probably wasn't pretty. Nothing really seems to surprise her anymore, and she doesn't really show joy or humor or much of anything else, either, but at least she's polite enough. If you're looking to party up with her, know that she's only really interested in quests involving voidsent, but she's known to make exceptions when there are no voidsent-related quests on the board."

The receptionist smiles and shakes their head.

"...Anyway, if you can look past her weird quirks and dry attitude, you'll find she's a very dependable, and often even accommodating sort. She's always on time, I've never seen her back down from a quest, and she's always among the first to respond to emergency calls for help from fellow adventurers - in those cases, even when it doesn't involve voidsent. Oh, and she's apparently pretty good with animals - her chocobo seems happy, and I've occasionally seen a cat accompanying her. That says a lot about a person, doesn't it?"

Eventually, the receptionist shifts their gaze down to the stack of papers before them.

"...In any case, it's rude to talk about people behind their backs, and we're crossing over from professional to private here- so let's stop. If you do want to know more, why don't you just talk to her? It'll take a bit for her to warm up to you, but she's not going to bite you, either. Well, unless you're a voidsent, huh?"

Out of Character

Hi! I'm a trans woman from Europe and I'm slowly approaching my 30s, and I've been writing and roleplaying for ~15 years at this point. Writing is a serious passion of mine, and I'm equally as comfortable running things as a GM as I am participating in other people's storylines as player. I prefer freeform writing with minimal rolling in events, but may use basic d20s for groups!

Yes

1) Light lorebending. I'm okay with mild lorebending, but let's please keep the setting fantasy-aligned.2) Open-world roleplay. Given the choice, I'll always pick this over Quicksands chitchat no. 381.3) Plotting, planning and scheduling. We are the GMs of the plots we write together, so let's put in the effort!4) Character-driven plots. Focusing on how the world affects our OCs, not how they affect the world.

Maybe / Talk first!

1) Hostile character dynamics. There needs to be complexity; it can't just be nonstop bickering in every scene.2) Blank-slate search infos. You can always approach me, but I can't approach you off "WU/T!" alone!3) Lightless. I'll sync if we've RPed before or we're starting a scheduled RP, but never with full-on strangers.4) ERP. I'm not saying it's not gonna happen at all, but it'll need the right chemistry, context and buildup.

No

1) Minors, IC or OOC. All players and characters involved in a scene, no matter the nature, should be 18+.2) Bigotry & queer fetishization. I'm not okay with raceplay and I will not interact with "F+" characters at all.3) High-powered characters: WoLs, Scions, immediately MSQ-adjacent characters, demi-gods, et cetera.4) Dialogue-only, rapid-fire bar RP. It's not for me and I'll lose interest fast: I need more than just this!

With all that out of the way, communication is key: if you're unsure about something, if you'd like to present a scene idea that wouldn't work in the current location or context, or you just don't know how to approach my character, you're always welcome to approach me OOC with a /tell instead, even when I'm RP-tagged. I do actually prefer OOC approaches over IC approaches! If you'd like to roleplay with me, don't be shy! Do be direct about your intentions, though: if all you do is compliment my glamour, my carrd or something else, then I'll assume you're just being nice - which is perfectly fine and welcome (and nice of you indeed!), but it doesn't really tell me you're looking to roleplay with me.
